Our New Year’s resolution

by Kelsey Clodfelter

New Year’s resolutions never work. That is, unless you make them on the behalf of an entire organization, and post them online so that everyone you know can hold you accountable.

It’s a little late in the game. 2012 is almost three weeks old! But that doesn’t mean we can’t make a solid promise. So here it is: our New Year’s resolution for The Profile.

We will shift our focus to improving communication with the Agnes Scott community, and do anything we can to foster a better relationship between our organization and the campus at large.

There are a number of ways we will execute this plan. First of all, we will frequently send out calls to students, faculty, staff and alumnae to submit freelance writing. We want to represent the entire college, and not just the 30-some students that constitute our staff.

We will also plan on-campus events. Although we love seeing your email addresses on our computer screens, we want the opportunity to interact with real faces. I can’t divulge our clandestine plan as of yet, but I assure you all that there’s a Profile party coming your way.

Last but not least, we will make a concerted effort to reply promptly to all comments and inquiries we receive through email. As all of us on The Profile are full time students with our own cluttered inboxes, we sometimes let the email situation get out of hand. However, knowing that communication is essential, we will work on this.

So there. The deed is done. The resolution is made. Please hold us to it!

As always, we appreciate all comments and suggestions. We hope that everyone at Agnes Scott feels comfortable contacting us for any reason and at any time.

Happy New Year, everybody!
